This is the Philippines MTC. The temple housing is next door on one side and the distribution center is next door on the other side. The temple is across the street. We go through a tunnel under the street to get to the temple.

We hired a van and driver to take us around Manila a little. We went through this museum house. Beautiful old building. This is the building that reminded me of Pride and Prejudice.

This is an old building we toured. It had red carpet that you had to stay on. No pictures could be taken inside. Somebodys castle or something. It is original from the 1600s.

I bought one of these baskets. Sister Johnson and Sister Smith did also. We spend money when we get together.

Working with families in Butterworth.

We spent a week in Butterworth and Penang doing family history training. We went to a bird show in Butterworth but got rained out.

This is a temple with lots of genealogy on the walls of the Khoo clan.

This is a mansion owned by an early Chinese family. When the Japanese invaded they left. It was vacant for 60 years. Someone bought it and restored it with many antiques. The bonsai tree is about 65 years old.

This is the month of the Hungry Ghost Festival. The ghosts are let out for a month. The Chinese feed them and burn money for them. We watched this lady lay out the papers and then put the pile of money on them. Then she lit it on fire. The box at the front represents food.

These are children practicing for the lion dance. They are very good. They crouch down and jump up all at the same time. They do competitions. It was fascinating.

After being here almost one year, I discovered that banana's have a blossom. I took many pictures but didn't notice the flower on the bottom.

When in Ipoh we went to the steamboat restaurant. There is a stove built in the table with pots of boiling soup. You go to the buffet and pick what you want to cook and put it in the pot. They had other food also. Lots of fruit. And an ice cream bin.
