This is how we spent Boxing Day. Susan and Siew Yin took us to
FRIM which is a natural preserve with lots of trees.
Susan, Bruce and Siew Yin.
Bruce is on the bridge in the trees. I am taking the picture while standing in the water.
Susan and Siew Yin took us to icity. It has metal trees and
decorations covered in lights. Too many to put in a blog.
This was a snow walk. They had coats for people to wear. You had to pay. They wouldn't let anyone over 65 go in. I don't know why they think snow (fake) is dangerous.
Carriage of fake snow. Lots of lights.
We decided to go for a carousel ride.
Friendrich, Jean, Bruce and Siew Yin behind me. Susan waited below.
We are on the upper deck.
The entrance to the Sunway Pyramid Mall.
This is the Christmas tree at MidValley Mall with a maze around it.
We took rambutan and cookies to the kids next door for Christmas.
Dinner at the McKinleys. They invited all the missionaries in our zone. Karen McKinley is on the far end. Scott McKinley is second down on the right in the black shirt.
E/S Smith, Sister Burtis, us. The missionaries decided we all needed sarongs and santa hats for a group picture. I am not sending the group picture because these are cuter. Sister Burtis stays with us when her companion goes on visa runs.
These are the elders in our zone.
These are the people we spent Christmas Eve with at the Cole's penthouse.
We got these Santas from the P.J. Hilton. The one on the left is an Indian Santa that Sister Johnson got. The middle one is Arab that Sister Smith got. The one on the right is Chinese that I got.
This is our Christmas tree. We found it in a storage closet. Friendrich made a stand. I used Jani's blanket for a tree skirt. Friendrich bought us some lights. Susan and Siew Yin brought us some bows and little pine cones. The pine cones are in the triangle shaped containers. The packages are for the missionaries from Susan and Siew Yin.

Susan and Siew Yin took us to dinner for my birthday. We went to the Ship. Bruce had steak and I had salmon. Notice the real flowers in our drinks.
Susan and Siew Yin bought my favorite cake from Secret Recipe - chocolate indulgence.
six big candles and five small ones - very old
Eating birthday cake.
The bananas and rambutan are from our yard (sort of - the bananas are across the fence). Friendrich arranged them on a banana leaf as a snack for the elders during district meeting.

The airlines gave us umbrellas to get from the plane to the terminal. We return them at the terminal. This is actually the first time we have had to use them.
This truck of pigs was in front of us as we were going down the street in Kuching.

We went to Templar Park to hike to seven waterfalls. I don't think we got them all. Friendrich took us.
This is the falls where we stayed the longest. Jani and Mike stood under the falls and took pictures with their waterproof camera.
Jungle trekking.
One of the falls.
Eating Indian food with their hands. It is spicy. There is a wash basin behind Jani.
Preparing Thanksgiving dinner. This is our kitchen.
Thanksgiving dinner with family and new friends.
We had a foot massage (reflexology) after watching Breaking Dawn. Mike had a back massage while we were at Breaking Dawn.
We fed the monkeys crackers.
The Patronas Tower bridge is under renovation. We were planning to go to the top and on the bridge. Bro Curtis works in the towers so he took us to the 52nd floor where he works. We saw the view from all sides.
There is as cultural center in K.L. that does performances every afternoon except Friday. We just found out about it. It was very fun. Mike even liked it.
one of the cultural dances. We were on the front row so it was a little intimidating.
Jani trying durian (the stinky fruit). We all agree it isn't as bad as it smells but we wouldn't choose to buy it.
The pastry shop between our house and the church.
Our favorite blueberry cheese tart!!

HAPPY DAY!!! Jani and Mike are here for a visit. You will see all the fun we are having.
This is fish therapy. The fish nibble the dead skin on your feet. Jani was so verrry brave. She did not get her money's worth. I had to take pictures.
We went to Singapore with Jani and Mike for a few days. Some good friends let us stay at their home. This is a view from our car on the singapore flyer. It took 37 minutes.
Singapore Flyer
Jani and Mike swimming in the South China Sea. Bruce and I waded.
Our favorite place in Singapore, we loved the foot massage.
Some friends took us and Jani and Mike to the elephant sanctuary. I got brave and touched the elephant. It was not slimy so I was fine with it.
Mike and Jani riding the elephant. They would only give passes to half our group so sadly, I could not ride the elephant.
Jani and Mike bathing the elephants. Actually they are on them.
